Born in Providence, Rhode Island on May 30, 1927, the daughter of James G. Lindsay and Margaret (Gibson) Lindsay.
Raised and educated in West Warwick, R.I. and Cranston, R.I.
Graduated from Cranston (East) High School in June, 1945.
Enrolled at Rhode Island State College in September, 1945 and graduated with a B.S. degree in education in June, 1949.
After graduation she was employed in the Cranston School Department as a Home Economics teacher.
After her marriage in 1950 she moved to Greenfield, Massachusetts where her two children were born. In 1957 when her husband was transferred they moved to Cheshire, Connecticut. In 1960 when her husband was transferred again to Pittsfield, MA, Mrs. Anderson returned to teaching and became a full time Home Economics teacher in the Pittsfield School Department until she retired in 1992. She was a member of the National Home Economics Association for many years.
Mrs. Anderson and her husband moved to South Dennis, MA in 1992, after they retired. She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Harwich Port Golf Club for more than thirty years. She was a member of the Congregational Church of South Dennis where she served on the Board of Deacons for a number of years. She was also a very active member of the Union Circle at the church, and a member of the Dennis-Yarmouth Womens Club.

A daughter, Susan L. Bocash and her husband Robert of Westfield, MA
A granddaughter, Kathryn Jean Bocash of Natick, MA
A brother-in-law, Richard E. Anderson and his wife, Barbara of Bonita Springs, FL
And the late son, Donald Anderson. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday Nov 26, 2011 at the South Congregational Church 216 Main St South Dennis, Mass at 11am. Burial to follow at South Congregational Cemetery. Donation may be made to Dana Farber Institute 44 Binney St Boston, Mass 02115
