Gerry passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2024, in Brewster, MA after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Gerry’s life will occur at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024 in Brewster, MA at Our Lady of the Cape Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Brewster Ladies’ Library, Michael J. Gerry attended Iona Preparatory in New Rochelle, NY, and College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. He earned his M.B.A. from New York University. He served his country in the New York Army National Guard.
He was devoted to his family and is predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Therese (Terry) Kilgore Mannix. Gerry is survived by his sister, Elizabeth (Betsy) Mannix Kehoe and his five children, Kathleen, Kevin (Debra), Timothy, Robert (Jo Ann), and Michael, and six grandchildren, Megan Thompson (Michael), Kaitlyn Fahmer (Jeffrey), William (Devon), Sean, Travis, and Samuel, three great grandchildren, Leah Thompson, Eliana Fahmer, and Josie Fahmer.
Gerry worked at Xerox Corporation as an International Program Launch Manager. He spent time in Japan, England, France, Germany, and Canada. He retired at age 57. He and Terry moved to Brewster in the early 2000s. In retirement, Gerry worked at Cape Cod Sea Camps in Brewster.
He was a long-time resident of Fairport, NY, and Brewster, MA. Other residences include Penn Yan, NY and Scituate, MA.
Gerry was an advocate for his family and friends during difficult times. He enjoyed fishing and volunteering. He ran more than ten marathons, renovated a six-bedroom farmhouse, and watched his children participate in countless sports activities. He and Terry traveled throughout the States and the world. He was a devout Catholic and attended church at Our Lady of the Cape. He will be deeply missed.
