Barbara Jane (Anderson) Bianco, 76, of East Dennis, MA passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis of complications from COPD. She was the loving wife of the late Michael Bianco (2004).
Barbara was born in New Britain, CT, the daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Chapman) Anderson. Elizabeth passed away when Barbara was 7 and she was raised by her father Clarence and step-mother Geraldine Anderson. Barbara was a graduate of New Britain High School.
Barbara and her husband resided in New Britain, CT and in 1970 they moved to the Cape and settled in East Dennis, MA where they enjoyed family camping trips and traveling. Barbara also enjoyed knitting, bowling, crafting and reading. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Barbara was a faithful employee of Cape Cod Hospital for 32 years. She held various positions working as a Pharmacy Tech, Central Distribution, Admitting and most recently Patient Access Representative when she retired in 2013. Before her career with Cape Cod Hospital, Barbara worked for Brewster Plastics in Brewster and Colonial Candle in Hyannis.
Barbara is survived by her loving step-mother Geraldine Anderson of New Britain, CT; her sons Michael (Anne) Bianco of Greenville, SC and John (Diane) Bianco of Harwich, MA; daughter Darlene (Paul) Shea of East Dennis, MA; brother Robert (Dorothy) Anderson of Sun City Center, FL and sisters Patricia Skelskey of Bristol, CT and Debra-Lyn (Glenn) Kavanagh of Hyannis, MA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren whom she adored.
Visiting hours will take place Thursday, May 9th 4-8 p.m. at Doane, Beal & Ames, 729 Route 134, South Dennis, MA 02660. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 10th at Cape Cod Covenant Church 11 Satucket Rd. Brewster, MA 02631 followed by burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Dennis.
