She was born in Leominster, MA, daughter of Ottavio and Rosina (Rosa) Pochesci, and retired to Cape Cod along with her husband James R. McQuade in 1983.
As a longtime resident of Leominster, Angie was very active in community affairs serving on the Board of Directors of the Leominster Recreation Center, the Visiting Nurses Association, the Leominster Industrial Development Commission, and the Leominster Chamber of Commerce where she worked for many years. She was also a past member of the Leominster Business and Professional Women’s Organization.
Angie also enjoyed reading, gardening, and was an avid golfer; she was a former member of the Monoosnock, Grandview and Westminster Country Clubs. After retiring to the Cape she became a member of the Dennis Pines and Dennis Highlands Golf Courses, and until recently was still teeing it up and walking 9 holes several days a week. She also was a past member of the Cape Cod Women’s Golf League, the Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts, and the Dennis Women’s Golf Association, and was currently on the Board of Directors of the Friends of Dennis Seniors. Ang was also a big fan of Boston sports teams, and especially enjoyed cheering on the Red Sox and Patriots.
She is survived by her two sons Michael McQuade and his wife Linda, Robert and his wife Linda O’Donnell, both of Leominster, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years James R. “Big Bob” McQuade, her brothers Anthony and Gilbert Pochesci, and her sisters Domenica “Minnie” (Pisciotta), and Eda (Watson), all of New Jersey.
The family would like to give very special thanks to Linda O’Donnell who served as Ang’s primary caregiver during her illness and to her close friend and golfing companion Eleanor Dunn, for their care and support, and would also like to thank all the nurses and aides from VNA of Cape Cod Hospice for their help and assistance.
If you would like to make a donation in Angie’s memory a contribution can be made to either the Visiting Nurses Assoc. (VNA) of Cape Cod Hospice, 434 Route 134, So. Dennis, MA 02660, or to Friends of Dennis Seniors Inc., PO Box 287, So. Dennis, MA 02660.
