

Born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Empaminondas “Peter” Kontaxis and Efthimia “Ethel” (Tsimis) Kontaxis, Angie was raised and educated in Worcester. She was a graduate of Classical High School and Becker Junior College where she earned her Associate’s degree. After college, Angie found her DREAM job as a receptionist and medical assistant to Dr. Maxwell Gould for 25 years. Shortly after retirement she met and married her late husband, James Contonio and they moved to Cape Cod. Angie shared 35 loving years with Jim and together they found success and enjoyed running the Swan River Flea Market in Dennis. She loved living on Cape Cod where she enjoyed walking her dog “Coco” in Kelley Park, planting and harvesting flowers and vegetables for her home, and time at the beach.
Angie was predeceased by her husband James; her parents Peter and Ethel; and her sister Anna.
She is survived by her brother Ted Kontaxis (Maureen); her step-children, Deb Mark (Jan), Jack Contonio (Linda), Paula Wilson (Doug), and Rick Contonio (Susan); grandchildren, Jamie, Ashley, Abigail, and Christopher; and great-grandchildren, Catherine, Thomas, Cara, Andrew, Sloane, Granger, Piper and Caden.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1130 Falmouth Rd., Centerville. A private burial will take place in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
