Trey A. Rivet, 18, of Dartmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 9, 2011 at home. Born in New Bedford, the son of Joshua and Sherry (Machado) Rivet, he was a lifelong resident of Dartmouth. Trey had attended the Schwartz Center for Children in Dartmouth for several years.
His interests included fishing, camping, horseback riding, vacationing with family and listening to music on his iPod. He also enjoyed bowling and soccer with the Special Olympics.
Surviving in addition to his parents is a step- sister, Alyssa Rivet of New Bedford; maternal grandparents, Robert W. and Diane Machado of Dartmouth; paternal grandparents, Ross and Gail Souza of Lakeville; maternal great-grandmothers, Elsie Blanchette and Anna Machado of Dartmouth; paternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Andrade of New Bedford; aunt Sheena and uncle Chad Brown and cousin Jayden Brown of Fairhaven, aunts, Morgan Raposo of Maryland and Sarah Rivet of New Bedford; uncles, Michael Rivet of Pennsylvania and Rui Raposo of Texas; and many great aunts, great uncles and cousins. He was the great-grandson of the late Antone Luce, Joseph Machado and James Andrade.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 10AM in St. Mary’s Church, 783 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated.
