Shui Ling (Ng) “Gloria” Wong, 71, of Dartmouth, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at home following a long illness with her family by her bed side. She was the wife of Yau Choi Wong to whom she was married for 44 years.
Born in Manila, Philippines, a daughter of the late Frank Ng and Yuen (Wong) Wan, she had resided in Dartmouth for 42 years. Prior to coming to the United States, she was a midwife in Hong Kong.
Mrs. Wong was the former manager of York Wong Restaurant, New Bedford MA making many friends over the years. She was retired for 9 years.
Gloria was a world traveler and enjoyed visiting many continents including Europe, Australia, and Asia, visiting relatives and was also an avid reader.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Kevin Wong of Lynn, Peter Wong and his wife Qingqing Wong of Attleboro and Anthony Wong of Dartmouth; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy May and Michael Corr of Martha’s Vineyard; a grandson, Tyler Wong of Attleboro; a sister, Vivian Chin of Staten Island, NY; three brothers, Michael Ng of Staten Island, NY, Patrick Ng of Hong Kong and Vincent Ng of Guangzhou, China; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 11am in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by a procession to Rural Cemetery in New Bedford.
