Born in Westport, the daughter of the late Isidro and Mary (Fermino) Pires, she resided in Fall River until moving to New Bedford in 1978 and later to South Carolina in 2012.
Mrs. Ramos worked as a seamstress in the textile industry for 30 years retiring from Kravif Manufacturing in 1973 and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Upon retiring, she enjoyed doing many different crafts including cross stitching, knitting and crocheting making many keepsakes for all of her family members. Until her death she enjoyed playing the Dr. Mario video game on her original Nintendo 64 play station and doing circle a word puzzles. Spending time with her family was of the utmost importance to her.
She is survived by two daughters: Mary Ann Pineau and her husband Hank of Lugoff, SC, Susan M. Maturi and her husband Michael of Somerset, three grandchildren: Laurie Davidson, Lenny Pineau, and Jeremy Maturi, two brothers: Louis and Frank Pires, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Leonard Ramos and sister of the late Joseph and Raymond Pires, and Deolinda Farias.
Her visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor may be made to U.N.I.C.E.F, 125 Maiden lane, NY, NY 10038, attn.: Revenue Processing Department 1800. Burial private.
