Kimberly Ann (Hopkins) DeMelo, 62, of South Dartmouth, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Alfred “Al” DeMelo, with whom she shared 23 years of marriage.
Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Allen Joseph Hopkins Jr. and Sandra A. (Chamberlin) Hopkins.
Kimberly was a graduate of Southeastern Technical Regional Vocational High School, and worked at the Acushnet Company for 28 years.
She married the love of her life, and they raised their beautiful daughter together. Spending time with her family was very important. She enjoyed drawing, sketching, and some modeling. Kimberly was a private, simple woman that lived a simple life. She loved quiet time at home, wrapped in a warm blanket, looking out the window, while doing her word-search puzzles. She had a heart of gold, and her infectious smile will be deeply missed.
In addition to her husband, Al, she is survived by her only daughter, Samantha Abreu and her husband Aaron of New Bedford; her only sister, Kathleen Septelka of Mansfield; a niece, Marlena Corkum of Mansfield; a nephew, Lucas Septelka of Mansfield; and great-nephews, Hunter and Lucas Septelka III, both of Mansfield.
Private Arrangements are in the care of the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME AT DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd, South Dartmouth, MA 02748. For on-line tributes, please visit our website at www.waring-sullivan.com
