John Charles Sarnoski, 74 of South Dartmouth was born on August 23, 1949 to John and Dorothy (Seitz) Sarnoski in Chester, Pennsylvania. He passed away peacefully on July 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
John was an Air Force Captain, after a long career he retired from active service and went into the medical device business, where he met his wife, Jean, and settled in South Dartmouth. Eventually, he went back to work for the Federal Government as a Contracting Officer for the US General Services Administration located in Boston, until his retirement in 2018. He held several Master’s Degrees in Engineering and Quality Management and as his grandchildren can tell you, “Pa can literally fix anything!”
John loved spending time on his boat, fishing, Sea Chanties, WWI & WWII history and bad horror movies. Most of all he loved his wife Jean of 25 years, his family and his beloved grandchildren. He had a mischievous sense of humor punctuated by a wry smile and a twinkle in his eyes that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
John is survived by his wife Jean Kelly, his children (from a previous marriage), Dustin Sarnoski and his wife Alison, Darcie (Sarnoski) Bartlett and her husband Jason, his stepchildren, Leslie (Kelly) Cousens, Stephanie (Kelly) Soto and her husband Victor, John Kelly and his wife Kerri Dutra Kelly. His siblings, Dolly Sarnoski and Lauren Brooks. And his ten grandchildren: James Cousens, Phoebe Cousens, Victoria Soto, Abigail Kelly, Ryan Kelly, Matthew Sarnoski, James Sarnoski, Andrew Sarnoski, Silas Bartlett, and Eli Bartlett.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Church, 795 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth, MA 02748. Burial in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
