Elisa N. Jardin

Elisa N. Jardin of Fall River, MA, passed away on November 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Bedford, MA, Elisa was raised in Funchal, Madeira. She returned to New Bedford with her husband, Manuel, when she was 23 years old.

She worked in various factories including the Grinnell Company. In 1962, she and Manuel opened Dartmouth Carpet Factory on Route 6 in North Dartmouth and successfully operated the business for over 40 years. She lived in North Dartmouth for 53 years until she moved to Fall River in 2020. Elisa worked hard all her life but enjoyed spending time outside in the sun and traveling to the Bahamas. Later in life, she enjoyed crocheting blankets and scarves which she donated to area nursing homes. She was a dedicated wife, loving mother, and wonderful grandmother. She will be profoundly missed by her family and remembered for her intelligence, common sense, love of animals, especially dogs, deep pride of being Madeiran and her amazing sense of humor. A communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church, Elisa was predeceased by her husband Manuel, and is survived by her beloved only child Shirley Ferreira and her husband Jose of Fall River, MA and her adored granddaughter Anne Marie Ritchie and her husband Ronald of Westport, MA. We ask that you keep Elisa in your thoughts and prayers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 27 at 10:00AM in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Road, North Dartmouth. Relatives and friends are invited.
