She was the loving daughter of Donald and Phyllis (Cardillo) Pratt of Dartmouth, MA, the proud sister of Daniel (Annaliese) Pratt and Michael (Lauren) Pratt, and the adoring aunt of Rory Pratt, who she affectionately called, “Ror-Ror”. Ashley also leaves behind loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and her cherished dog/labradoodle, Finley.
Ashley attended St. Mary's School in New Bedford where she participated in CYO basketball and Bishop Stang High school where she played on the basketball and field hockey teams. She was also a member of the AAU Bristol Stars Team.
Ashley pursued post-secondary education at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT. As an incoming freshman, she was selected to participate in a program called “Community Connections”. She was a member of the University’s crew team and graduated SHU with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
The following semester, Ashley discovered her true calling. She continued at Sacred Heart University, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (RNBSN). This was by far Ashley’s proudest achievement.
She began her healthcare career working summers at Massachusetts General Hospital. After receiving her Nursing Degree, she worked at Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Vibra Hospital, Southcoast Behavioral Hospital and St. Luke’s Hospital. Known to all for her huge heart, Ashley was nominated last fall for the distinguished “Daisy Award” in recognition of her demonstrated clinical skills and for the compassion Ashley showed to her patients and their families.
Loved by her immediate and extended family, Ashley always took great pleasure in family gatherings. She especially treasured her Italian family holiday traditions. Her personal style and artistic flare made holidays and tablescapes just that much more special. Ash loved to travel, especially to Martha’s Vineyard and to Italy, where she visited extended family. And, need we say more, Ash loved to shop.
