

Born in Dartmouth, son of the late Cezar and Adeline (Riberia) Aguiar, he was raised in New Bedford and had resided in Dartmouth since 1967.
Mr. Aguiar proudly served in the United States Army during World War II attaining the rank of Corporal. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He was the last surviving member of his battalion, Battery D 461st Anti-aircraft Artillery AW Battalion.
He had worked as a rubber spreader at Goodyear Tire Company in New Bedford for over 40 years.
Tony was passionate about fishing, gardening and woodworking. He took great pride in his immaculately manicured lawn. Tony loved spending time with his family and looked forward to meeting his future great-grandchild.
He is survived by a son, Wayne Aguiar and his wife Ann Marie of Wallingford, CT; two grandchildren, Christopher Aguiar and his wife Jackie of Wallingford, CT and Matthew Aguiar of Salt Lake City, UT; and two brothers, Nicholas and Raul Henriques. He was the father of the late Antone “Tony” Aguiar, Jr. and brother of the late Joseph Henriques, John Henriques and Mary Cipriano.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 10:00am in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
