Born in Fall River, a son of the late Arthur J. and Antoinette (Gagne) Richard, he was a longtime resident of Somerset, moving to Windham three years ago. A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School class of 1953 and UMass Dartmouth, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War, stationed in Germany and in the National Guard. Mr. Richard worked as a Purchasing Agent for Metropolitan Life, Property and Casualty for twenty-one years, retiring in 1996.
Ronald loved spending time with his family, enjoyed the ocean, military history, classic movies and he took pride in his house and car. He was a long time Eucharistc minister at St. Patrick’s Church, Somerset and was a member of the men’s club.
He is survived by two sons, Randall R. Richard of Somerset, Mark B. Richard M.D. and his wife Stacy of Hampstead, NH; one daughter, Lisa M. Barnes and her husband Russ of Dunstable, MA; five grandchildren, Elizabeth M., Nicholas M. and Matthew J. Richard, Jacob R. and Hannah E. Barnes and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Paul A. Richard and Vivian C. Camara.
His Funeral will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 8:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at ROSE E. SULLIVAN, 866, County St., Somerset, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 306 South St., Somerset. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
