Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Thomas W. and Ledora A. (Mackey) Kiley, she spent most of her 84 years in Somerset where she was a graduate of Somerset High School.
Mrs. Smith was employed as a Medical Secretary for Dr. Alceu Pedreira for many years at the Truesdale Clinic. Alongside her late husband Jack, Pat was a member of the Power Squadron Coast Guard Auxiliary, she worked the voting polls for the Town of Somerset and was involved in the St. Patrick’s Church Festivals. Her greatest joy was attending the sporting events of her grandchildren where she was most often found in the front cheering them on.
She is survived by three sons: Robert S. Smith and his wife Carol of Suffolk, Ipswich, England, John T. “Jack” Smith Jr. and his wife Julie of Somerset and Paul E. Smith and his wife Patricia of Cromwell, CT; a daughter Massachusetts State Representative Patricia A. Haddad and her husband Sam of Somerset; a brother James P. Kiley of Coventry, RI; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith was also the sister of the late Thomas Kiley, Marguerite Clifton, Catherine Howland, Christopher Kiley, Mae McClimans and Robert Kiley.
Mrs. Smith’s family would like to thank the Somerset Ridge for their professionalism and loving manner in which they cared for Pat, the many caregivers that allowed Pat to stay in her home and the “Golden Girls” of the Ridge Center for their friendship during her last few months.
