Olive M. (Lindo) Doyle, age 99, of Somerset, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Clifton Rehabilitation Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Lieutenant Detective James L. Doyle, Massachusetts State Police.
Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Manuel M. and Sophia (Medeiros) Lindo, she had been a resident of Somerset since 1959. She was a member Somerset Village Senior Center, the Senior Citizen Club, the Happy Seniors and many other Somerset Senior Clubs.
In addition to being a homemaker, she was founder of the Mother of Twins Club. She served on the Board of Directors of our Sisters Place and volunteered for their support group. A talented artist, she enjoyed reading, sewing and travelling.
She is survived by two daughters, Colleen Nobrega and her husband Richard of Somerset, Karen J. Doyle of Somerset; one son, Kevin J. Doyle of Fall River; seven grandchildren and many great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Agnes Doyle and sister of the late Mary Mis, Theresa Filippi, Ida Tenchara, Joseph, Abilio, Alfred and Manuel Lindo.
Her Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County St., Somerset. Her funeral will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Ave. Somerset. Relatives and friends invited. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor may be made to River to Recovery, 1501 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA 02720. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
