Jean M. Desmarais Quigley

Born in Fall River a daughter of the late Andre and Ellen M. (Lyons) Desmarais she was a longtime resident of Rehoboth.

A graduate of Truesdale School of Nursing she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salve Regina. A parish nurse for St. Anne’s Hospital she was also the Director of Nursing at Catholic Memorial Nursing Home for 10 years before retiring in 1990. Having a deep love of poetry she published her collection in “To Dance with Daffodils”.

In addition to her husband she is survived by one son, Stephen A. Quigley and his wife Joy of Melrose, MA; one daughter, Maryellen Costa and her husband Michael of North Dighton, MA; eight grandchildren, Ryan Quigley, Michelle Costa, Ryan Willwerth, Derek Willwerth, Kyle Quigley, Nicholas Costa, Timothy Costa and Alyssa Quigley; and two great-grandchildren, Miah DeChaves and Alena Costa. She was the sister of the late Joseph Desmarais.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 9:00AM from the Rose E. Sullivan Funeral Home, 866 County St., Somerset with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, 499 Spring St., N. Dighton. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset. Visiting hours Tuesday, 4-7PM. Relatives and friends invited. Contributions may be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
