A New Years baby, Janice was raised in Pawtucket. Her parents were John and Anna Falko. At West High “Rusty Falko”, known for her long red hair, played on the girl’s Basketball team. She graduated from West High in 1971. An Honor Student, she received a full scholarship to RIC. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in Early Childhood Education from BCC in 1993. She worked in a number of jobs, most recently for the Somerset School Department.
Janice's greatest joy came from sharing her life with her loving daughter Jenny and her family. Janice loved pets and her terriers were cherished like children. An excellent photographer and scrap-booker, she was an avid reader, and a wildly talented seamstress, even sewing her own elegant wedding gown. She was also skilled with woodworking tools and furniture refinishing. Her artistic abilities extended to the computer where she was an advanced user of innumerable programs. She shared her love for children with her daughter, and many nieces, nephews and their children as well as her daughter's Brownie and Girl Scout troupes as an assistant leader.
Her poise, beauty, sharp wit and loving nature will be sorely missed and eternally cherished by her grieving family to whom, “She Walked In Beauty.”
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 10 AM in St. John of God Church, 1036 Brayton Ave., Somerset.
