Janet Russo

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Christopher and Mary (Ward) Gibney, she had been a resident of Somerset for over forty years.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, she worked in the E.K.G. Department at Truesdale Hospital and Charlton Memorial Hospital for 32 years before retiring in 2005. She helped the homeless and needy children and her best times spent were with her family whom she adored.

She is survived by her loving son, Christopher Russo of Somerset; sister, Colleen Murray and her husband Donald; nieces, Mary Elizabeth Bishop, Christina Murray and Karen Santos; nephew, Robert Murray and two special great-nieces, Bridget and Finley Bishop. She was the sister of the late Charles, Francis and Robert Gibney.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM in St. Dominic’s Parish, 1277 GAR Highway, Swansea. Contributions in her honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101.
