David “Steve” Rogers, 76 of Dighton, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 in Tufts Medical Center after a year-long battle with pulmonary arterial hypertension. Steve was surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. He was the husband of Andrea M. Rogers with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.
Born in Fall River, son of the late David and Alice (Costa) Rogers, he graduated from B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1965, and later received his Associates Degree from SMU, currently UMASS Dartmouth. Steve was employed as a Production Manager for many years prior to his retirement.
Steve loved his family dearly, especially his four grandsons. He found pleasure in traveling with Andrea, particularly to Atlantic City and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed racing pigeons, watching UCONN basketball, and relaxing on the deck with a Black Russian in his hand.
In addition to his wife Andrea, he is survived by his daughters, Stacey Ashton and her husband Roy of Fall River, Jessica Tavares and her husband Marc of Dighton, his grandchildren: Evan, Aidan, Logan, and Mason, and a sister, Carolyn Bricault and her husband Donald of Florida. Steve was the brother of the late Leslie Jean Rocha and brother in law of the late Wilfred Fontaine. He also leaves behind brother in law Edmund Rocha of Florida and sister in law Fahy Fontaine of Bellingham, along with several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 29th at 10:00AM in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 30 South Main Street, Assonet. Relatives and Friends are invited. Burial will be held in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
