Anita Metras

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Jules and Dina (Allaire) Pelletier, she was the step-daughter of the late Phillip Joncas. A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1940, she enjoyed many class reunions over the years.

In her younger years, she was a self-employed promotional advertising representative for many major food companies including the H.J. Heinz Company in Southeastern New England.

Mrs. Metras was a Girl Scout Leader, an active member of Sacred Heart Parish Woman’s Guild and later Holy Name Parish. A founding member of the Coca Cola Alumni Club of New England, she also enjoyed collecting Coca Cola memorabilia. She was a member of Classy Ladies for many years.

She is survived by two daughters, Alberta Goss and her husband Irving of Warren, RI, Diane Coite and her husband Ernest of Somerset; three grandchildren, Marc Scrivo, Michael Goss and wife Sandra, Lisa Andromalos and husband Peter; seven great-grandchildren, Amy and Caitlyn Scrivo, Alexandra, Ryan and Erin Goss, Jessica and Hannah Andromalos; one great-great granddaughter, Aaliyah Andrade and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Russell Pelletier.

Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County St., Somerset, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Ave., Somerset. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor may be made to Catholic Memorial Home Activities Fund, 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River, MA 02720. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
