Warren Sauro, 93, of Onondaga Hill, passed away Thursday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Rapibottoni, Italy, he and his family immigrated to the US in 1924. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Warren was employed by Niagara Mohawk over 30 years, working as Supervisor in the Gas Department when he retired in 1979. He enjoyed bowling, working on his jigsaw puzzles and was a member of the IBEW. He was predeceased by his brothers Isadore and Michael.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Jocelyn Collins, 2 sons; James (Carolyn), of Onondaga Hill and Michael (Heidi), of Austin, TX, 3 grandchildren; Erin Shuley, Kara Hawkins and Shawn Sauro, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters; Antoinette Garcia, of Solvay, Lena Pascarella, of Syracuse and Natalie Davis, of E. Longmeadow, MA, 3 brothers; Chris, of Fairmount, Anthony, of Liverpool and John, of Lakeland, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am Monday in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Syracuse. Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 pm Sunday at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Ave. Solvay, NY 13209.
