Walter John Midgley, 64, of Fairmount, passed away peacefully at home Saturday April 13, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born in Syracuse to the late Walter L. and Lena (Hatem) Midgley. John was a graduate of West Genesee High School and attended both Wadham’s Hall Seminary School and Auburn Community College. He was a partner at Midgley Printing and the founder of Managed Printing in Syracuse for many years, retiring in 2012, and was a communicant of Holy Family Church. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert.
John’s passions in life were spending time with his family, cooking, and sharing his passion for cooking with the less fortunate in Syracuse.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Candace Dewey, 2 daughters, Theresa (Borzou) Razmjou, of Manlius and Jacqui (Dave) Aldinger, of Syracuse, 3 sons, JJ (Veronica), of Grasonville, MD, Timothy, of NYC and JP (Liz), of Buffalo, 11 grandchildren, Jesse Midgley, Julian, Alea and Sam Razmjou, Jacob, Matthew, Isaac and Lucas Aldinger, Tyler, Lincoln and Regan Midgley, 2 brothers, David (Eileen), of Solvay and Bruce (Denise), of Clay, sister-in-law, Debbie Midgley, of Marcellus, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be conducted Tuesday, at 12:15 pm in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, and at 1:00 pm in Holy Family Church, Fairmount. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 pm Monday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave, Solvay.
