Mary Jane Poli, 70, of Geddes, passed away Saturday at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a life resident of Syracuse and a 1959 graduate of Solvay High School. Mary Jane was a secretary for the NYS Division of Youth for 26 years before retiring in 1991. She later worked in Dr. Powers Dental Office in Westvale for 6 years. She was a Village of Solvay Trustee for 4 years, serving from 1991-95. Mary Jane and her husband loved to travel with their friends Gail and Jerry, and Sophie and Fred. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Cecilia Church.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Joseph L. Poli, a son; Joseph C. Poli, of Solvay, 3 step-children; Steven (Tina) Poli, of N. Syracuse, William Poli, of Solvay and Karen Valentine, of Minoa, 7 step-grandchildren; Jonathan, Kimberly, Brenna, Andrea, Lino, Samantha and Sydney, 3 brothers; John (Janet) Panighetti, of Westvale, Mario (MaryAnn) Panighetti, of Lakeland and Arthur (Marilyn) Panighetti, of Syracuse, a sister; Anna Patsos, of Syracuse, a brother-in-law; Danny (Charlene)Poli, of N. Syracuse, her best friend; Nancy Burnham and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 8:15 am in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9 am in St. Cecilia Church, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Ave, Solvay.
