Madeline M. (DeLorio) Marotta, 97, of Solvay, passed away Wednesday at Fahey Residence at Loretto. Born in Syracuse to the late Nicholas and Carmella (Guero) DeLorio, she lived in Solvay over 65 years. She was a charter member of the Constantia VFW Post 7325 Auxiliary, longtime communicant of St. Cecilia Church and past member of its Altar and Rosary Society. Madeline was predeceased by her husband Joseph S. Marotta in 1992, a brother Frank DeLorio, 3 sisters Lucy Armstrong, Susan Fuller and Jenny DeLorio and a great grandson, Joseph James Marotta.
She is survived by 2 sons, Joseph (Barbara) Marotta, of Lakeland and Nicholas (Cheryl) Marotta, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, 5 grandchildren, Tammy Daws, Michelle, Joseph N. and Nicholas Marotta and Danielle Lange, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8:45 am Monday in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9:30 am at St Cecilia Church, Solvay, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, DeWitt. Calling hours are from 1 to 4 pm Sunday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave.
