John M. DeVoe, 92, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday at James Square Health & Rehabilitation Centre. Born in Syracuse to the late W. Floyd and Susan T.K. (Low) DeVoe, he earned his BS Degree in Engineering from Syracuse University and he was a US Navy Veteran of World War II. John was a chemical engineer at Allied Chemical in Solvay, retiring in 1982. He was a member of First Christian Assembly Church, the Sons of the American Revolution and an active alumnus of the U.S.S. Ludlow.
He is survived his wife of 49 years, the former Josephine DeSantis, 2 daughters; Diane (J. Merritt) Winchester, of Texas and Dorothy (Tashi) Norbu, of California, 2 sons; John (Maria) DeVoe, of LaFayette and James (Janice) DeVoe, of Cato, 2 step-children; Donald (Rebecca) Streib, of Marcellus and Sandy Crocker, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, a nephew; Christopher (Marie) DeVoe, and many more nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 am in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in White Chapel Cemetery, DeWitt.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave.
