Frank Santos Gonzalez, 87, of Solvay, passed Sunday, April 19, 2015 at James Square Health and Rehabilitation Centre. He was born in Solvay to the late Ignacio and Teodora (Santos) Gonzalez in 1928 and was a graduate of Solvay High School. Frank served with the US Air Force from 1948-1952. He was as a rigger at Allied Chemical Corporation for over 39 ½ years before retiring in 1986. Frank was a lifelong communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church, a member of the Solvay-Geddes Veterans for over 50 years and was an avid golfer and hunter. Filled with love and joy, his happiest days were spent with his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, the former Theresa Sanua; 2 daughters; Lorraine (Mark) Sabatino, of Liverpool and Deborah (Michael) Russo, of Bernhards Bay, a son; Frank J., of Solvay, 2 grandchildren; Anthony (Catherine) Sabatino and Nina (Matthew) Checksfield, 4 great-grandchildren; Charlie, Brynn, Angelo and Grant, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8:15 am Friday, April 24, 2015 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9:00 am at St. Cecilia Church, Solvay, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
