Frances (Galini) LaManna, of Solvay, died Monday August 11, 2014 at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was 94 years old. Frances was born in Fulton, New York and moved to Solvay when she married John LaManna in 1945. She opened her own beauty shop in 1960 and ran "Fran's Beauty Salon" out of her home on Woods Road. She was active in many organizations and was a past president of Solvay Tigers Auxillary. Fran loved to travel, play cards and was a lifelong, die hard Yankee fan. At the age of 85 she and a friend took a bus to Yankee Stadium to fulfill a lifetime dream of seeing Yankee Stadium. She was fiercely independent and lived on her own until the age of 93. She is predeceased by her husband John, her brothers Charlie, Roy and Joe Galini, her sisters Mary Tubelino, Jeanette Viscome and Angelina Galini.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John “Jack” and Marcia LaManna; her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Patrick Francher, her granddaughter and her husband, Jackie and David Shields, her grandson and his wife, John “Jake” and Shara LaManna and her great grandchildren, Abigail and John Shields, her sister-in-law, Sophie Galini and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9 am Friday, August 15, 2014 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, Solvay. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners. Family and friends may call Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 4 to 7 pm at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
