Charles W. Swartz, 85, of Solvay, passed away Friday at James Square Health and Rehabilitation Centre. Born in Syracuse, he was a US Navy Veteran of WW II. He was an engineer for Conrail for over 40 years before retiring in 1992. He was predeceased by his wife Bernadine in 2000.
He is survived by 3 sons; Robert, of Syracuse, Walter (Kim), of Solvay and Donald, of Liverpool, a daughter; Melissa Mercondante, of Troy, 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a brother; Jack (Barbara), of Tully and FL, a sister; Dorothy Miller, of Rochester, his companion; Jo Ann Powell, of Albany, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am Wednesday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, Solvay. Burial will follow in Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4 to 6 pm Tuesday, at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Avenue.
