Robert "Bob" Wilfred Link

Robert was born August 22, 1939 in Superior, Wisconsin to the late Wilfred & Adaline (Ostrom) Link.

Robert attended elementary and High School in Minong, graduating with the class of 1957.

He married Janyce Aasmundrud on September 30, 1961 at the Hayward First Lutheran Church in Hayward, WI. They celebrated 50 years of marriage together.

Bob was activated in 1961 and sent to Fort Lewis, Washington with the Wisconsin 32nd Division National Guard in response to the Berlin Crisis. After one year of active duty he was honorably discharged from the Guard. Bob and Janyce returned to Minong, Wisconsin and joined his father and uncle in the family business, Link Brothers. Bob went off on his own starting Link Recreational, Big Bob’s Furniture; Bob retired as a life time businessman of fifty years. Robert was very community minded he served on several state and local committees. He was member of the Keystone Masonic Lodge 263. Bob shared his passion of the out-of-doors with his children and grandchildren, everyone remembers how much he loved to go berry picking. He enjoyed hunting and fishing around the world. Bob and Janyce made many memorable trips abroad. Over the last couple of years Bob would sit for hours putting together puzzles and giving them away to his family that he loved so much.

Among those who survive and gratefully shared his life is his wife of 50 years: Janyce of Minong, WI; 5 children: Jill (Mark) Larson of Apple Valley, MN: Todd Benson of Wascott, WI: Joy (Jerad) Pierce of Trego, WI: Stacey (Chris) Terry of Mantorville, MN: Tracey (Mark) Mooberry of Osage, IA; ten grandchildren: Jason, Michael, Kevin, Justin, Sarah, Matthew, Nicholas, Emilee, Megan, Spencer: one great grandchild: Lyla; one brother: Jack (Mary Jo) Link of Minong, WI: one sister-in-law: Joyce (John) Moreland of Hayward, WI. And his two most loyal companions that shared Bob's morning walks with; Leo and Little Bear.

Robert is preceded in death by one daughter Jody Benson.

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 4, 2011 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Minong, WI. Pastor Sara Pearson will officiate. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Minong & also 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2011 at Church. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
