Selma Luella Kuhlmann died January 4, 2014 at Emeritus Assisted Living in Snohomish at the age of 97. She was born in Snohomish on January 30, 1916 on the family farm in Snohomish. During WWII she earned her Red Cross pin to assist those in need and later worked for many years as a nurse’s assistant at Merry Haven Nursing Home in Snohomish. She was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church in Snohomish. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Carl Kuhlmann, and siblings, Sarah Stocker, Bertha Markel, Esther Lunderville, and Otto, Arnold, and Edwin Kuhlmann. She is survived by her sister, Amanda Meyer, age 101, and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be Thursday, January 9th from 4pm to7pm, and Friday, January 10th from 9am to 11:30am. Graveside services will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Ludwig Road, Snohomish, on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 1:00pm with a family gathering following at Zion Lutheran Social Hall, 4th and Union, Snohomish, WA. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity. The family wishes to thank the staff of Emeritus for the loving care that Selma received during her stay.
