October 19, 1973 – February 20, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Sebastian Sanford, known affectionately as "Pete," who peacefully left this world on February 20, 2024. Born on October 19, 1973, in the city of Seattle, Pete brought brightness, brilliant humor, and genuine care to the lives of those around him.
Peter was a man of exceptional intelligence, warmth, and an insatiable curiosity about the world we inhabit. His passion for learning was evident in his fulfilling career in health services, where he started as an Xray specialist, then returned to college and excelled in the field as an MRI technician. His commitment to excellence, service to others, and hard work left an indelible mark on the those around him, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and patients alike. He often stepped into the role of teacher and helped anyone in need. Pete loved a good challenge and could figure out how to fix a car just as easily as he could figure out the complexities of his life. A lifelong Seahawk enthusiast, Peter loved football and enjoyed every game he watched.
Beyond his professional achievements and hobbies, Peter was a devoted husband to Margaret, his partner in hijinks. Never a dull moment, their bond was a testament to the strength of their love, and their shared adventures were filled with joy, much laughter, and a mutual desire for discovering and cultivating a deeper connection with God. Peter loved his dog Lily, and she relished all the playful hours he spent with her joyfully giving her attention and care.
Peter's memory will forever be cherished by his father, John Sanford, residing in Florida with his wife Ennette as well as with many extended LaCugna, Sanford, and Meyer family members that loved Peter throughout his lifetime. Pete's passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by those who knew and loved him. He is fondly remembered as an intelligent, sharp-witted, and genuine human being who brought insight and wisdom to every gathering.
As we mourn the loss of Peter, let us also celebrate the vibrant and meaningful life he lived. May his legacy remind us to approach each day with the same passion, curiosity, and love that defined his journey. In our hearts, Pete will live on, a beacon of light and inspiration, encouraging us to stay present with each precious moment we share with those we hold dear.
Rest in peace, dear Pete. You will be profoundly missed, and your memory will forever be engraved in our hearts and lived out through the love you showed to us every day.
