Fred D Rudolph left this world to be in the hands of our Lord on April 14, 2023.
He was born on February 5, 1929, in their family home in Livingston, New Jersey, the Son of George and Charlatta Rudolph.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, George and Charlatta. Siblings Katherine, Dot, and his infant Brother, George Jr. and Stepson Robert.
Survived by Wife, Sandy; Sons, Mark (Lynda), Paul (Sheila), Jon (Jen). First wife Barbara. Stepdaughter, Vikki. Grandchildren, Johnny, Elle (Augustine), Jacob(Samarah), Jennifer, Shilo, Tamba, James and Lexi. Great grandchild Baby Maverick.
As a young boy, Fred had many stories and fond memories of growing up with his two sisters, and helping his neighbor, Mr. Schaffer on his dairy farm while attending school.
After completing high school, Fred immediately enlisted in the US Air Force. This began a 20+ year career in the military. He quickly moved up through the ranks serving in WWII, Korea and Vietnam wars. Amongst many duties, Fred participated in the Berlin Air Lift in Germany, and later was recruited by the CIA to serve at Area 51 for a period of time. After Area 51 he went back to his final base at Paine Field Air Force Base in Everett, WA to retire his Military career in 1966.
After his military career, Fred moved out to rural Snohomish, raised his three boys on a small farm, and did various jobs in the supply and construction fields, in addition to real estate investing and remodeling of homes.
He enjoyed trying out various restaurants, many trips to the Oregon Beaches and spending time with family and friends.
Through his sometimes-rough military exterior, Fred had a contagious smile and a kindness to him like no other. He truly cared for others and simple conversations would turn into instant friendships.
Fred enjoyed good health throughout most of his life. In his 90’s, he still drove, went to town, and puttered around his home. He was not one to be inactive.
Fred passed away as we all should, peacefully at home, surrounded with family who Loved him.
Services will be held at Bauer Funeral Chapel, 701 First Street, Snohomish on Saturday, April 29th,2023, at 2pm. Immediately following the service will be military honors at GAR Cemetery, 8801 Riverview Rd, Snohomish. Reception at Collectors Choice Restaurant, 215 Cypress Ave, Snohomish afterwards.
