Winnerd P. Rodgers, 86, of Eatonton, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at his home. Winnerd was born on January 22, 1930 in Ward, SC to Pierce and Prudence Rodgers. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and worked as a superintendent for Mulkey Enterprises. Winnerd passed on his wonderful work ethic to his family and taught many young men the trade of construction. He loved people and camping and was always telling jokes. He was very handy and could figure out how to build something one day and have it built the next. Mr. Rodgers was a member of Lakeshore Community Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Stephen H. Rodgers and brother Harold Rodgers. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Betty J. Rodgers of Eatonton, daughter Teena Carr and husband Danny Carr, Sr., of Eatonton, grandsons Chad Moser and wife Arley of Watkinsville, Shane Moser of Charleston, SC, Corey Moser and wife Sandra of Commerce, and Danny Carr, Jr. and wife Nicole of Japan, great granddaughters Madison, Cyril, Amelia, Carrie, Joselyn and Hannah, special friends Raymond and Linda Beasley of Eatonton, Tommy and Gladys Archer of Tennessee, Virginia Shelby of Tennessee, George and Shirley Pratt of Tennessee, and A.B. and Linda Henderson of Conyers, his dog Ginger and a host of other family and friends.
