To us that loved him, Mike Struck was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and cousin. After battling with CTE/Alzheimer’s he passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024. He has joined the love of his life, Vivian who was the perfect match for him. He was the first of three children born to Bill and Elizabeth Struck. Born in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, he had fond and long memories of helping on his grandparents’ farm, especially when it was time to harvest the wheat and raised cattle. He was raised in Clinton, Oklahoma where he played high school football for the Clinton Red Tornadoes. After high school he went to college at the University of Oklahoma where he played his favorite sport of all time. He was a tremendous football player and loved the Oklahoma Sooners. He graduated with a degree in business and finance. Mike and Vivian were happily married on June 19, 1974. They were together for 46 years.
Mike is survived by his son, Jason Michael Struck, daughters Lindsey Struck and Jean Frantom and his dog Link. He is also survived by his brother, Patrick Struck, and sister, Kathy Nichols. He was an incredibly hardworking man who prided himself on taking care of his family. He loved every member of his family and friends deeply. He was a devout Christian and loved to read his Bible He was our provider and protector. He loved his country and served with the Army (1976-1984). He spent most of his life working in the funeral industry for Service Corporation International. His favorite work was at the Arlington Memorial Park in Atlanta, GA but there are so many he was proud of.
Mike’s favorite place was Gatlinburg TN. He absolutely loved those mountains. He loved to hike and was an avid walker later in his life. He would walk for miles. Gatlinburg was his earthly heaven.
Mike has made and is still making an eternal impression on all who knew him. He truly has left us all a legacy of love and a life that was good. He is free and at peace now but will be so missed.
A graveside service will be held for Mike Struck on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, 3700 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, GA 30039.
