In 1945, Ruth was joined in holy matrimony to World War II veteran, and educator, Wayne W. Crosby, Sr. This union was blessed with two children, Wayne, Jr. and Constance. Ruth was also an educator, teaching Middle School for the city of Rochester, New York. She later transferred to Ontario Central School System, where she was a Kindergarten Teacher until she retired in 1984.
Ruth was a member of the First Congregational Church of Fairport, New York; where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. Once they relocated to Georgia, they became members of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Snellville, and later the Presbyterian Church in Commerce. Ruth believed in being active in the community; and was a member of the Seniors Group at Eastside Hospital, Meals on Wheels, a long time member of the Atlanta Miniature Society, Gwinnett Miniature Society, and the Quilting Club in Jefferson, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband of 56 years.
Ruth's many memories will be cherished by her son, Wayne W. Crosby, Jr. (Phyllis), and daughter, Constance Higgins (Robert); her grandchildren: Kirsten Glowaski (Michael), Brian Crosby (Emily), Todd Crosby (Cynthia Bray), and Kendra Flanagan (Brett); her great-grandchildren: Joe Glowaski (Rachael), Kaitlyn Ruiz (Trystan), Kourtney Glowaski, Kiley Glowaski, Reid Carr, Hunter Crosby, Wesley Flanagan, Bowen Crosby, Knox Crosby, and Aubrey Flanagan; her brothers in-law: Howard Crosby, Sr. and Rev. Walter Crosby (Bonnie); along with several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
