Ruby Cornelius Lamb was called to be with Our Heavenly Father January 17, 2013. Ruby, surrounded by her loving family, passed peacefully to be with the choir of angels in Heaven at 1:45 p.m. This determined matriarch fought and lost a lengthy bout of kidney and lung cancer. At the time of her passing, she was eight-nine years young. She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Jim, loving children, Bill, Susan, and Sherry, as well as seven grandchildren; Mike, David, Chuck, Kimberly, Kevin, Nicholas and Elizabeth, seven great-grandchildren; Brandie, Wade, Maggie, Jackson, Elliot, Madeline, and Emmelynn along with numerous cousins.
She was a lovely and lively lady who survived much adversity in her youth, yet bloomed into a beautiful and remarkable woman. Jim and Ruby met at Colonial Bakery, courted and married. Together Jim and Ruby proudly raised a loving family.
Her many talents were enjoyed by friends and family. Ruby was a cook of many delicious dishes including her famous biscuits. Her sewing prowess was shown in her family's beautifully decorated home and the many pretttily designed clothes created for her family and friends. Her design flair was demonstrated in her fashion sense and her elegant home. Handicrafts such as crocheting and fishing were some of her many hobbies.
Ladies could always rely on Ruby for those essentials in the golden purses she always carried. She was famous for having an abundant supply of safety pins, rubber bands, and Bounty paper towels. You would always find this beautiful lady with her tube of Revlon Persion Mellon lipstick no matter what her daily activity.
Friends often saw her with a cane fishing pole and a grandchild in hand, headed to the nearest lake for some "fishin" and warm conversations about life. Ruby was Jim's first lady for numerous years at Yaarab Shrine Temple. Her gracious hospitality was known to all. Ruby's faith, charming laughter, delectable cookery, and clever wit endeared her to the countless people she met throughout her life. She will be sorely missed. The Angels have taken our Sweetheart, Mother, Gommie, and Friend. We Love You. "For He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways".
