Robin Annette Watkins

Robin was born March 10, 1959, to Ivan & Christine Dobbs of Stone Mountain, GA. Robin was one of four siblings and is survived by sister Bonnie Caldwell Carter of Tucker, GA and brothers & sisters-in-law, Ivan Dobbs, Jr. (Bubba) & Debi Dobbs of Gainesville, GA and Dale & Maria Dobbs of Florence, AL. She is preceded in death by her mother & father.

Robin graduated from Stone Mountain High School in 1977, Gwinnett Technical College, and Shorter University.

Robin worked for Quest Diagnostics for over 20 years starting as a phlebotomist and working her way up to leadership roles in sales and account management. Robin’s daily example of hard work and self-improvement were an inspiration to those around her, especially her son, Dean. Dean will always remember as a young boy, practicing flashcards with his mother after her long days working at Winn-Dixie. He would learn his ABCs and simple words, and Robin would work on her coursework for phlebotomy at Gwinnett Tech. Robin would later go back to school and complete her associate’s degree at Shorter University while working full-time.

Robin loved UGA football, reading, her plants (she had a green thumb), detective TV shows, and her family. Robin was a caregiver that took satisfaction in caring for and protecting her loved ones. After her professional career was over, Robin became a caregiver for her father in his last years.

Robin was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and Granny. She will be deeply missed.
