It has been a year since you left us and I miss you as much as if it was yesterday. You are and always will be my dearest friend. We had so many good times together. I talk to you often and know that you are listening. You are with Jesus now and are laughing and singing with the Angels. We will meet again someday but until that day comes I will miss you and love you. Thank you for being my friend.

Mom, 
You were absolutely the best mother I could have ever hoped for and I have missed you every second of every day since you've been gone.  You were such a wonderful selfless person with so much compassion for others. Even when you were in pain, you were quick with a smile and a kind word which could brighten anyone's mood. You also had the most amazing sense of humor which always helped those around you keep things in perspective. You never forgot what was important in life, and you certainly didn't sweat the small stuff. I wonder if you even knew just how beautiful you were or how many lives you touched?

I think I am finally starting to accept the fact that you're gone, but the shock has now given way to overwhelming grief. Everyone keeps telling me that I have to "move on" but I'm not sure I can stand to do that yet when every step forward feels like a step away from you. I'm just not ready to let you go or to let go of all the warmth and security I have ever known. Most days I feel so desperately sad and lonely that it is all I can do to keep going. Fortunately, I have so many great memories of funny/crazy things you said or did over the years and I am thankful that I at least have those to hold onto. I often find that it helps to chase away some of the sorrow when I can manage to laugh through the pain and smile through the tears. 

I want you to know that I will somehow find the strength and courage to go on and I will take care of everyone in our family the way you would want me to. For you, I will be strong. I can't tell you how much I long to see you though. I want nothing more than to hold you close and to hear your laughter and your voice. In addition to being the best mom ever, you were also my best friend. My heart is completely broken and there's no way for it to ever mend because you took a big part of it with you. I will be okay though. Please know that. I am comforted knowing that you are no longer suffering and that you are in Heaven with grandma and granddaddy. That is where you belong because you were too kind and decent for this world. I can't even being to tell you how much it torments me to think of all the pain you had to endure in this life for so many years. You certainly didn't deserve any of it, and I'm just so sorry that nobody could help you. 

Rest in peace now. I will take things from here. I love you with all my heart and I look forward to the day when I can be with you again. Until then, I will carry your light and your spirit within me and I will try to be the kind of person you taught me to be.

Peggy will be remembered as a sweet, kind, amusing friend that had a unique perspective on life. What I loved about Peggy was her contagious excitement over simple things, like playing Bunco with her neighbors, or taking an evening walk around her cul-de-sac. I will always remember just how charming she was; I do not think I ever saw Peggy that she did not have some sort of compliment for me, my home or my family. She was a beautiful soul, inside and out, that will be missed by everyone she touched. God rest her precious soul.

Mike, Ted and I were so sorry to hear of your loss.  She was a true friend and wonderful neighbor.  Peggy will be missed, but know that should you or anyone in your family need anything, please remember we are here.  We will remember Peggy with both a tear and a smile.

Peggy was an OUTSTANDING BEAUTIFUL Woman who had a very sincere heart and displayed strong compassion to those whose path she came across. Mike, Alison, Matthew and families. I can hardly believe Peggy has left this earth, however I know she endured a lot of pain.  She was a sweet, caring person.  I have so many great memories with her and things she has given me over the years just because she had a big caring heart,  so many sweet memories.  She was a wonderful neighbor and friend.  All of you are special to us, many sweet memories as Alison, Matthew, Tammy and others grew up on our street.  Even though Peggy has gone onto a better place, a place of peace and joy, she will never be forgotten. Dear Mike....I just learned of Peggy's death.  I am devastated as are all who knew her. God bless you my loving wife of 44 years. I don't know how I am going to fill the huge void that you have left in my heart, but knowing that you are now walking with our Lord Jesus Christ and your mother assures me that you have found the peace that you so richly deserve devoid of the pain that took you from me.

As I sit here tonight I think about all the funny conversations you and I had. As a little boy I would get scared of the dark and go into my mom and dads bedroom and cry at my moms bedside she would wake up and say whats wrong I told  her I was scared and like the sanctuary and security blanket of my life you were I recall you would say come on get in bed and hold me. Anytime I fell down you brought me up and I always made every attempt to do the same for you. My heart will forever be broken. I know you are with Grandma and Granddaddy you are home now with your Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Someday in the future we will rejoice at the beautiful gates until then I will stay strong for all of those that dearly miss you because that's what you taught me to be a security blanket and sanctuary.
