He was a successful businessman, owning NEMA, Inc. with his wife, Marsha Christian Baines. From the time he and Marsha incorporated their business in 1988; and during his time building his business, he always remembered those that helped him in his business success. He was a true philanthropist, helping those around him in any way he could. He was very unique in the love and loyalty which he promoted in others. He believed in helping people gain “their wants and needs.” In addition, he gave people an opportunity to succeed and helped them along the way. He built an excellent team to manage his business.
Before founding NEMA, Inc., he managed large construction sites on the east coast and later decided to become an independent truck driver. He wanted to see the United States. This time as a driver helped him develop the idea of his successful business.
He enjoyed playing golf for many years and was part owner in Ashton Hills Golf Club in Covington, GA. Golf was a way that he enjoyed friends and customers. He loved the outdoors and animals and was supportive of NEMA always having an “office cat!”
