Maud Julia Parker was born August 10, 1938 in Portland, Jamaica, WI to Phyllis and Israel Brown. She attended Mount Pleasant All Age School, Shortwood Teachers College and the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica.
Maud accepted Christ as her personal savior in 1965 and on April 17 of that same year, married Sydney Parker. She is the loving mother of Dahlia, Vinnette, Michael, Bancroft, Boris and Donnette. She is survived by 23 beautiful grandchildren whom she adored and cared for passionately.
In 1967, Maud migrated to Annotto Bay, Saint Mary becoming a teacher and Vice Principal of Annotto Bay All Age School. At Annotto Bay Baptist Church and Port Antonio Baptist Church, Maude was a member of the staff and choir; she also served as a Sunday school teacher at Annotto Bay Baptist Church.
In 1986, Maud immigrated to Bronx, New York and attended Lehman College, receiving her Master’s Degree in Education. While in NY, Maud was a member of New York State United Federation of Teachers and taught at East Tremont Public School 6; she was also a member of the staff and choir at Wake Eden Baptist Church.
In 2006, she retired and migrated to Loganville, GA, where she was a member and served in the choir at South Gwinnett Baptist Church in Loganville. She was the epitome of excellence in all facets of life. Her heart was always filled with kindness and love. Her beauty and grace was always evident in her never ending smile. Her desire to help relatives, friends or strangers through the toughest of times is a testament to her warn and loving heart. She was a queen, matriarch, wonderful wife and caring mother to many beyond her children. A confidant, spiritual advisor and loyal friend, she consistently extended herself selflessly exhibiting the true definition of unconditional love. Overflowing with grace and blessed with resilience she empowered everyone in her presence. She was the visionary trailblazer, the humble champion, and the bedrock of the family. She leaves us behind in the physical being but will forever be loved and celebrated.
