Linda Newberry Lockaby was born September 16, 1947 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Charles and Elizabeth Newberry. The family moved to Decatur, Georgia before her teenage years began. Linda was employed by the Centers for Disease Control for 34 years in various divisions. Her final years at the Center were completed at the Agency For Toxic Substances And Disease Registry. Her career at the agency was highlighted by being named employee of the year in 1995.
Linda is survived by her husband, Ronald H. Lockaby, her daughter, Holly Hicks Long, sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Clark Britt, grandson, Stacey Long, Jr., and his father, Stacey Long, Sr. She is also survived by Tracy and David Nichols, Austin and Kailey; Jan and Steve Bradley, Suzanne and Meredith and Mike and Sharon Britt, Michael and Anna.

Visitation and Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 12 PM for Visitation and service beginning at 1 PM at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, GA 30039.
