I worked under Kathryn at St. Timothy School.  She was such a dear, sweet person with a wonderful sense of humor. She had such a great support for the teachers which made our jobs easier and fun! I remember when she had Amy during that time and many other fond memories were made with Sharman, teachers and our children.  My thoughts and prayers are with her precious family. 

Dear Gibson Family, we are so sorry to hear of your loss.  Mrs. Kathryn was so sweet to our family, especially to my parents, Grady & Eddie McCannon, who lived across the street.  Mrs. Kathryn brought so many meals and goodies to them as they were getting older. She was a true neighbor on Chesterfield Drive and I am so thankful we were able to spend time together back in those days. Much love to your family. 

We have often referred to Kathryn as a true miracle worker rivaling the story of Annie Sullivan‘s teachings to Helen Keller. In the 1962 movie by that title young Helen Keller, who was blind, deaf and mute since infancy becomes a celebrated deaf – blind author, activist, and lecturer. Catherine’s wonderful talents and gifts to all age groups, but especially children, have and will continue to be multi generational blessings. She and her family have and continue to be in our thankful prayers for such a witness that we know  makes JESUS smile. (The play/movie script was incidentally written by William Gibson)

I was attending a HUGE preschool “conference” back in the day when I was fortunate enough to be in one of her sessions. To say that I was impressed with her is an understatement. I remember going up to her after that and telling her that if I ever had the opportunity, I would LOVE to work under her directorship. As God would have it, I began  a 5 year stay at St. Timothy , so blessed to be under Kathryn’s leadership. Those 5 years were some of the happiest, fun years of my life and I cherish those memories ….. we MADE some memories too! 
Kathryn was a gifted teacher, an outstanding leader and friend and I will forever have her in my heart! RIP beautiful friend.,


We were so lucky to have met the Gibson family all those years ago on Shelton Wood Ct. Mrs. Kathryn was like a second mother to the Wick family and we have enjoyed so many memories with the Gibson clan. She is one of the most welcoming and generous people I have ever met. She and Wayne Sr. have selflessly supported our family during good times and bad. Mrs. Kathryn will be joining some old friends in heaven and we will always remember her loving soul.



















































































































































































































































































































































































































Dearest Wayne, Amy, and the whole family,
We are so very sad about the loss of our DEAR KATHRYN.  We loved her dearly.  And, we will always be so grateful for the beautiful "footprint" she left on our St. Timothy UMC and the St. Timothy School.  Her imprint on the lives of so many precious children and their families will live on in their lives forever.  She and Sharman were such a wonderful team and blessed us so richly.  May God give you comfort and His forever love.

Kathryn was a wonderful friend and neighbor.  She was incredibly devoted to Wayne, her family, her church and the Lord.  She was very happy sitting in her swing watching the bigger grandkids  playing ball, holding the babies and just taking it all in.  Her generosity with her time and talents and her eagerness to help wherever needed was a special blessing to those in need.  She was a blessing to all of our family.  She is singing with the Angels now.

I wish to add a note of sympathy from the family of the late Comer Lewis Donnell whose mother, Mattie Walker Donnell, was Kathryn's mother's first cousin.  My sons, Evans and Jack Donnell and their families, join me. 

I worked for Kathryn since she and Sharman joined programs and became St. Timothy School, and that represents some 20 years.  Her untold good works and interest in all her people, whom she treated like family, will always be remembered.  They will have a piece of her in their heart.  Not only was she a good mother to her children, but also was a wonderful mother to everyone she knew.  Her generous caring was amazing to witness and receive.  In her lifetime she touched countless hundreds of lives.  Many will grieve with the family who have lost such a loved one.  I send all my sympathy for such an enormous loss.  


We were 1967 Lebanon High classmates of Kathryn and have fond memories of our friendship with her. She had a dry wit, was an accomplished musician in the band, and was an extremely loyal friend. Our loss is Heaven’s gain. We shall miss her very much. —Tilford and Patricia (Byrd) Elkins

I was fortunate to be in the music department at Tennessee Tech when Kathryn was there. We played in a number of ensembles together during the late sixties…
Kathryn was a great friend. I Lost track of her after college, but always remember that great smile and her kind ways. 
Heaven is richer today, because she is there.
May the Lord bless you her family, And may the grief of this present moment ,in time, give way to fond memories of the past.
