Katherine Ann Suiter Gibbs, was known as Kathy, born on February 14, 1937, and was a Sweetheart to everyone she ever met. Kathy passed away at home and was received into the loving arms of our Savior and Lord on November 25, 2022.
Born in Ironton Ohio, Forestdale area, she met her lifelong Sweetheart, Alva Gibbs, in which they were together for over 68 years from the day they met in High School. They were told by the Base Commander that they were too young to marry, they married anyway, and so they weren’t too young at all. They married in 1954 and it was a military/government life for 40 years. She was a strong military wife and mother of three daughters. She worked hard and received her Beauty License from Beauty School in Sumter SC to help support her family while Al was in Vietnam. She stayed an active Beautician for over 40 years. But foremost, she would want you to know that she was a Christian, which helped her to be a wonderful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother (Nana), Aunt, and Cousin, to all her family.
Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elsie Raypole Suiter; and her sister Burnita “Nedy” Suiter Lyvers, she is survived by her husband Alva (Al) Gibbs; three daughters and son-in-laws, Debra (Debbie) and Steve Jordan, Julie Gibbs, Lucy and David Picciolo; a Sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Jo (Jody) and David Trent; four grandchildren and their spouses, Diane and Jim Austin, Jason and Cayden Jordan, Jennifer and Jacob Culley, and Cathy Picciolo; and seven great-grandchildren, Jordan Wells, Connor Wells, Jamie Wells, Cole Jordan, Korlyn Jordan, Jacob Culley and Justin Culley; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal services. Kathy will be laid to rest in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton GA.

The Twenty-Third Psalm
The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the
path of righteousness for his name’s sake…
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou
art with me thy rod and thy staff they comfort
me. Thou prepares a table before me in the
presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my
head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely
goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days
of my life; and I will dwell in the house of
the Lord forever
