Dorothy “Karline” Samuelson Feller, 79, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 26, 2022, with her family at her side. Karline was born on May 30, 1942 in North Henderson, IL to Carl and Dorothy Samuelson.
Karline was the second oldest child of a Lutheran pastor. They lived in many places across the Pacific Northwest throughout her childhood. She was valedictorian of Luther Academy in Nebraska and later graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. After becoming certified as a Medical Technician at Tacoma General Hospital WA, she married Lloyd Hardie and moved to Gadsden, AL. She worked as a medical technician at Baptist Memorial Hospital and as a Tabernacle Christian School. Later, she moved to the Atlanta area and married Bob Feller. She went on to earn a master’s degree in Math Education at the University of Georgia. She was an assistant professor at Georgia Perimeter College until her retirement.
She was actively involved in her church community, Christmas Child Project, Lutheran World Relief, and Camps Farthest Out. She loved reading, family history, sewing, quilting, thrifting, and everything outdoors especially hiking, exploring, and swimming, the beaches of SC, the mountains of Idaho, and the treehouse at Spirit Lake. She derived great pleasure from connections near and far with friends, colleagues, neighbors, nieces and nephews, close family, and distant relatives.
Above all, Karline loved Jesus and wanted everyone to know Him too. She shared her joy for Him generously with others. Karline lived her life looking forward to heaven and wanted to make sure that all of her people would eventually join her in celebration.
Karline was preceded in death by her husband Bob Feller, daughter Joy Hardie Williams, parents Birdine Peterson Samuelson, Carl Samuelson, Dorothy Lundstrum Samuelson, and brother Wilton Samuelson.
Karline is survived by children Michael Hardie, Micki Andrews, Dorilee Pervorse (Dan), Christi Feller Obstbaum, 11 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, siblings Joyce Baker, George Sonray (Karen), and Althea Sondahl (Brad).
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4655 Webb Bridge Rd., Alpharetta, GA 30005. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to CAYA Reconciliation Ministries, www.cayaministries.com/donate.
