Mrs. Sarah “Jeanette” Veal Dingler passed away on September 22, 2018, at the age of 93. Jeanette was born on February 13, 1925, in Stone Mountain, Georgia, to Ruby Pickens Veal and Grady Veal, and was married to Cary H. Dingler, Jr., for over 50 years before he passed away. Early in her career, Jeanette worked for McKesson Robbins Pharmaceuticals and the Internal Revenue Service, but found her calling selling fine jewelry at Macy’s Department Stores, first at Columbia Mall, and later at Northlake Mall in Atlanta. After retiring, she missed work and spent several years in a second career at Kroger’s. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and her grandson, John Allen Askins, brothers Hudson Veal and Harry Veal, and is survived by daughter Elaine Askins of Duluth, GA, son and daughter-in-law Cary and Mary Dingler, III, of Walnut Grove, GA, two grandsons and one great grandson.
Visitation will be 1-2 PM on Tuesday, September 25, at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, 3594 Stone Mountain Hwy., Snellville, GA, followed by a graveside service at 2 PM.
