James “Jim” Welty, 82, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014, in Lawrenceville. Jim was born to William and Dorothy Welty on April 27, 1931 in Allentown, PA. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Jim was a salesman for Bethlehem Steel for many years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, H2U, sang in the Hi-Los and enjoyed reading and watching sports. Jim was a wonderful husband and father who will be remembered for the fact that he seemed to always be laughing and for his cheerful attitude. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ruth Welty of Lawrenceville, sons James R. Welty, Jr. and wife Nancy of Buford and David J. Welty and wife Polly of Norcross, brother William J. Welty and wife Jean of Emmaus, PA, granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Greer and husband Jarrod and great grandson Aiden David Greer. Visitation will be from 4-6pm on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Eternal Hills Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1:00pm on Monday, January 13, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dale Sillik officiating. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.
