In 1961 he joined the United States Marine Corps as a Mechanic. Which included 8 overseas tours – three in Vietnam, three in Okinawa and two in Japan. For his dedication and bravery, he received several medals, and accommodations, including ranks to Gunnery Sergeant, two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him, as friends and family will attest.
After retirement, he worked at Rivermont Golf and Country Club for over 30 years where he maintained transportation and grounds equipment. He was always willing to help others with his expertise in cars and equipment.
He found great pleasure in traveling with his wife, working on model trains, fishing, watching Nascar, New York chowder parties, and hanging out with family and friends.
