Emmett "Bobby" D. Smith

Emmett "Bobby" Smith was born on July 23, 1940 in Atlanta to Emmett D. "Pete" Smith and Nellie Collins Smith. He graduated from West Fulton High School and attended Georgia Tech and Southern Tech. He worked at LaFarge, as a top Salesman in the Building Materials industry and enjoyed taking his clients out for an afternoon for deep sea fishing as well as spending the afternoon at the local lake fishing with his good friend Larry Rush. Bobby was a hunter and avid fisherman and a big Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed watching them become the World Series Champions. Bobby gave his life to Christ as a young man and he and his wife Shelby enjoyed serving in their church. He was a wonderful Brother, Uncle and friend who left his mark in all our hearts and lives and will be forever missed by his family and friends, but we will have wonderful memories to cherish

Survivors include his wife Shelby Dyer Smith, sister Shirley Smith Carroll and husband Alton "Sonny" of Woodstock, GA, nephew Christopher S. Carroll of Marietta, GA, niece Heather Schutte Carroll, nephew Paul Floyd McDonald of Snellville, GA, nephew - Harold Roach, Jr. of Statesboro, GA, niece Susan Easler Roach, niece Patricia Roach of Snellville, GA, great nephew Alex Roach of Brentwood, TN, great niece Danielle Wilson Roach, great nephew Nolan Carroll of Marietta, GA, great nephew Ethan Carroll of Marietta, GA and a multitude of cousins.

A graveside service for Emmett will be held Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Resthaven Cemetery, 2284 Candler Rd, Decatur, Georgia 30032.
