Dewey Winston Hay, 71, of Grayson, GA passed away on October 27th, 2020; in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Dewey was born on August 14th, 1949 to James and Sarah Louise Hay in Jacksonville, FL.
In 1968, he graduated from Osbourne High School, located in Marietta, GA. Shortly after graduating he begin a 29 year career with the Gwinnett County Fire Department; where he served as a Firefighter (Lieutenant), EMT, Paramedic, and a Arson Investigator. Once Dewey retired from GCFD, he worked at Brookwood High School as a parking lot Security and Safety Officer.
In 1977, he married the love of his life Joyce Hay, and to this union two beautiful children were born Jeff and Sara.
Dewey was predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; his maternal half-brother James (Matthews); his paternal half-brother, Douglas; his two children, Jeff and Sara; and his four grandsons, Chase (Millwood), Xander (Tanksley), Hexum, and Nolan.
